My Chemical Romance and Paramore will literally take their fans back to the past as they are scheduled to headline the upcoming When We Were Young festival.

On Tuesday, the When We Were Young festival promised a nostalgic show in October by confirming that My Chemical Romance and Paramore will lead the show.

A report shared by Billboard confirmed that Paramore – which went on a hiatus in 2018 – will come back as a whole group. Its lead singer, Hayley Williams, released her full-length solo album “Petals for Armor” in January 2020.

The show will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will also feature more bands and musicians that will perform alongside the two acts. Among the performers are Bright Eyes, the Used, bring Me the Horizon, Boys Like Girls, AFI, We the Kings, Dashboard Confessional, Taking Back Sunday, Avril Lavigne, Dance Gavin Dance, La Dispute, Wolf Alice, and more.

Meanwhile, When We Were Young’s official Twitter account shared the link for the ticket pre-sale, which will start on Friday.

More Surprise From Paramore

Aside from the upcoming festival, Paramore prepared something for fans who have been waiting for them.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Williams confirmed that the band went back in the studio to create their first album in five years.

“We kept joking it was all downhill from that point, but thank God we’ve been surprised a lot throughout this whole thing. I’m always waiting for the moment for us to know we’re onto something new and we’re not just rehashing the same sh-t,” she said.

The new album will follow their last project, “After Laughter,” in 2017. She did not reveal their target release date, but she did mention that the earliest songwriting sessions had already taken place in Nashville. However, they are expected to continue working on it in a different studio since they relocated to California.

Per the lead singer, they go to the studio around 10:00 a.m. and leave around 7:00 p.m. or 8:00 p.m.

Paramore’s next LP will also be the trio’s first project they would finish together.

“It’s really exciting because the three of us have completely different strengths when it comes to creating. It’s making the music and just the whole process of making a Paramore album feel completely new,” she went on.
